What's the Deal with the Picture?

Every time I log onto my blog and see the photo of myself standing on a street in Rome, while bishops walk past me, I have to chuckle. You may wonder why this random photo is the one I chose to post on my blog. Here's why: I went through every electronic photograph that we have since we first got our digital camera (this goes back to June, 2005). Besides the pictures taken of me shortly after giving birth, there were only two of just me. Both of them were from my trip to Rome. When I visited Rome with my choir in 2006, my friend Mike insisted I pose next to the bishops. He thought it was pretty funny how the perspective of the picture makes it almost look like I'm taking a walk with these holy men. (note the quizzical looks on their faces). What can I say? I'm easily amused! Incidentally, Mike also took the only other photo of me. I asked him to take a picture of me standing by a Smart Car, because I thought the boys would be intrigued by how tiny it was.

And here's a totally random story from this morning...
Connor has been sleeping dry for over a week - without Pull-Ups! We are so happy, and he's very proud of himself. He earned new airplane sheets for his bed that Nanna had been promising him if he could sleep dry 3 nights in a row. Well, he was up to 8...and then I heard crying at 6:15 this morning. I didn't have to be told why he was crying - I just knew. When I got to his room, he was pressed against the wall on his bed, legs spread wide apart, and he pointed to the middle of the bed and said, "That bed just got me wet!". "Oh, you had an accident", I said. "That's okay, let's change your clothes". Connor yelled at me, "No, I didn't have an accident! It was the bed!" Don't you love how easily a child can put a fresh spin on something to gain perspective? Maybe I'll try working on that myself.

Coming tomorrow...the world's best and easiet limeade.

I actually adore that picture of you! I think it perfectly captures so many of the things I love about you. Your silliness, your chutzpah, and your deep faith.

As for bedwetting: Griffin has totally reverted! I don't know what's going on, but now--at 4 and a half--he has to wear a pull up every night, and it's always wet! Argh! He also peed on his floor this morning. Huh? What is he? A dog? What. Is. Going. On?
