Mother's Day

Today was such a perfect Mother's Day. I started out with hugs and snuggles from the happy little body who made his way into our bed in the middle of the night. Then, it was off to church with our boys and my little cousin, Jadon. All three of the boys were good in church and it was a joy to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost) together. We went home and Stephen packed a wonderful lunch with his sub sandwiches and we all drove to the airport to meet his parents, aunt and uncle who had a layover on their way to Tahoe. The lunch was fun, but went far too quickly. As soon as we got home, we started working in the yard.

Working in the yard was one of the greatest joys for me today. I'm finally done (as of 2pm today) with all of my assignments for this semester and I was able to just pour myself into our landscaping projects. I love working side by side with Stephen in the yard. He always makes things fun, and he's a hard worker so it goes quickly when we're working together. The boys played and rescued earthworms that we dug up. We got quite a bit done, then Stephen treated me to a delicious steak dinner. We opened a bottle of wine that we bought in Napa last year and have been saving for our anniversary. My mom is in the next room reading to the boys right now and then the three of us will head out to the patio to enjoy the wine and Stephen's fabulous dessert...grilled pound cake with a balsamic glaze. I feel like such a lucky woman. But truly, I know it's not luck - it's the love of the Father that's manifested in all those around me.
