Back to Reality

Well, it's only taken me a week, but I'm finally posting some photos of our trip to Hawaii. I've spent the past week trying to catch up to real life, reminiscing about all of the relaxing hours I spent in the sun, and planning our next trip. As always when we travel together, we had a blast! Our travel style is truly one of our great compatibilities. We just do things at the same speed when we're on vacation, and we laugh a lot!

Stephen's company pulled out all the stops. This trip was "over the top", which was a real treat in this economy when so many companies are having to cancel trips like this. We began with a beach-side, high end luau with red snapper roasted in plantain leaves, rack of lamb, and about a hundred other scrumptious foods. The second day I enjoyed a heavenly Lomi Lomi massage at the spa. I had never heard of this, but if you ever have this as a massage choice, I highly recommend it. Husband spent that time on a high-speed rafting adventure that sounds like an absolute nightmare to me - loud music, high speeds, caves, huge waves, lots of bumping up and down in a raft, snorkeling, and hanging out in the middle of the ocean - not my idea of a good time. We were literally wined and dined for four days and four nights and no detail was overlooked.

Maui is a beautiful island with so much to do and see. I know this because a lot of other people who went on the trip did it all - biking down a crater, zip-lining, hiking, snorkeling, you name it. Me? I did nothing. I literally laid by the pool for four days like it was my full-time job. I did go into the ocean for about 15 minutes one day, and decided that I missed the quiet and non-sandy solitude of the "Serenity Pool" at the resort. I truly haven't felt so relaxed since our honeymoon. It was great to get to see Husband so relaxed and having such a good time too. He more than earned that trip!

So...I don't have too many exciting photos. Most of them are either of the pool, or taken at or from the pool. But here are a few...

This is a photo of us on the last
night of our trip, before Sysco wined and dined us rooftop
with a jazz band, lobster tail, filet mignon, and even an
astronomer to show us the moon and planets in his telescope!

Enjoying the Serenity Pool
(that's code for adults only - they piped in spa music!)
Oh- and the sunglasses on our heads?
They were a gift to us (a very nice gift!) from the company.

We enjoyed walking along the path that went through
our resort and along the beach in both directions for miles (well, we
didn't walk for miles, but we could have - if we wanted to!0

I am so glad you were given this fantastic opportunity to relax and be taken care of. I don't know two more deserving people! Love you...Becky
