Scenes From a Birthday

Last Thursday (hard to believe it's been almost a week!) we celebrated a birthday. But, it was not just any birthday - it was the birthday of my first baby. Somehow, the little baby that I sat with in the NICU seven years ago is now old enough to have no front teeth and to delight in a new DS game for his birthday. I have no idea how this happened, but somehow, right under my nose, he grew up!

So how does a 7 year-old celebrate? With his requested birthday dinner of french toast and sausage patties, followed by ice cream cake. Guests included his cousin Jadon and all of his aunts and uncles. Even Nana flew in for the day to help celebrate!

The kid who has forever been obsessed with
infomercials finally receives his very own SNUGGIE!

It's hard to say which gift Husband liked more -
the Snuggie, or the purple snorkeling set...

But the gifts that will keep on giving...
...are these little beauties.

More on them later, but for now I leave you with the following image - adorable, yet slightly disturbing...

Kirby in his Snuggie
(note the Snuggie socks that are included for free!)

Happy birthday to Kirby! I feel the same way. I can not believe how fast the years are flying by. It always surprises me. I had to laugh at the snuggie. Our friends bought two for Thomas and I as a joke a couple of years ago (no free socks for us!) and our kids LOVE them! They are always pulling them out to watch tv in.

I am glad he had a great birthday. How are you feeling? Getting enough rest, I hope? xoxo
