Connor's Idea of a Good Day

Today Gramma and Pop-Pop head back to New Jersey. We've had a wonderful 2 weeks with them. The boys have gotten to do all kinds of fun things, we've enjoyed some great meals out, and Husband and I have welcomed the company and all of the help with the house and the kids that their visits inevitably bring.

As sad as it always is to say goodbye, today was kind of bittersweet, because it's the first day that we've had no company and that I've had no school, so Connor and I get a day all to ourselves. This morning, when he sat up in bed, he rubbed his eyes and posed the question that I hear so many mornings:

"What are we going to do today?"

"Nothing", I told him.

"Are we going to be together?"

"Yes", I said.

A huge smile spread over his face. "Goody!"

My sentiments exactly. Sometimes all we need to get filled up is just some quiet time with the ones we love doing nothing - together. Today I vow not to get on the computer again, not to do any more housework, and to just revel in a little boy who, for right now, wants nothing more than to be together with me.
